Let’s keep Highfields in Toowoomba North!

The Australian Labor Party submission to the Queensland Redistribution Commission is asking that Highfields and Blue Mountain Heights become part of an other electorate. This would mean the representative for Highfields and Blue Mountain Heights, your representative, will no longer be the Member for Toowoomba North, but rather a Member with an office potentialy many hundreds of kms away.

Do you want to be represented by a politician with an office requiring a 3 hour round trip? This is not a choice between political parties… no matter who wins which seat, if this submission is adopted, your next representative, whether LNP, Labor, Green or Independent, will be a person so far away you may never have a chance to visit during business hours.

If you would like for your representation to remain in Toowoomba North, please have your say via the following:

Wilsonton School Hall to be delivered!

Following years of pushing and calling for the construction of an indoor arts and sports facility for the Wilsonton Campus, I am thrilled with the announcement to deliver a hall to this very patient school community. Prior to the 2015 election I promised to deliver this hall to the school however the change in government sadly denied this school this much needed facility.

With the delivery of the school hall now announced, I understand that planning and designing will commence for this hall with construction to get underway during the 2017-18 financial year.

I am personally thrilled that the Minister has taken head of my calls for this facility and it will be a great day indeed for the Wilsonton Campus school community when they can finally bring their community together in one space, just like every other high school in Toowoomba.
